Sweet Dreams Lullaby

This weekend, we slept in our new place, our new home with Isa. We moved just a few floors down in our same condominium building, but it’s nice to see Isa have her own little space in her own little nursery. It felt like a nice time to begin a new tradition. So I decided to add a storybook to Isa’s bedtime routine, especially since she so loves our daily storytime in the afternoons. Sweet Dreams Lullaby is a book Isa received as a gift and it’s wonderful! Betsy Snyder is so talented; she both writes and illustrates her books… They are truly beautiful. We already have all three of them! The lovely ladies I work with at Project Kealahou put on a baby book shower for me before my family leave and Isa came away with a whole library of books. It made me so happy.

So, I wanted to share some of the last lines of Sweet Dreams Lullaby tonight with you…

“tiny stars are shining bright,

whispering a warm ‘good night.’

wish on twinkles up above

and dream of everything you love.”

Sweet, right?

Six Weeks

Isa is bliss! We are in constant awe of her as she grows and changes each day - smiles, giggles, coos and all. She is so animated and engaged now, even compared to last week. We are learning more about her sweet personality every day and daydreaming of all she will become in the future.

I try to stay very mindful with her, enjoying each day with all of their joys, challenges and new milestones. I always think to myself: She’ll never be as little as she is right now, in this moment. Savor it.

Three Weeks

Isa is now three whole weeks old as of Sunday. Time is already flying by… And due to sleep deprivation (being on Baby Not-So-Standard Time), to be honest, the last three weeks kinda feel like just one very long day!

But mostly a very good day. We are so blessed.

In these three weeks, we’ve already hit a few milestones… First bath, first stroll with the - ahem - stroller, first Mommy & Isa outing. This week, we started her in cute little gDiapers, which has also been fun. They are the hybrid diaper system we’re using. So far we’ve just been doing the flushables, but plan to start the cloth ones at home soon too. Her bum is too cute in the newborn “tiny gPants”; will post a photo soon.

I know these seem like simple, mundane things, but when you’re building your confidence as a mother to a newborn baby, these feel like major accomplishments!
